Bridges 2 Hope is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Southern Indiana that helps individuals in early recovery from substance use rebuild their lives through transportation, job readiness, credit repair, and peer support. We believe recovery doesn’t stop at sobriety, it continues with meaningful work, mobility, and independence.

2. What is the Recovery Mobility & Workforce Readiness Program?

This program provides transportation and employment support for individuals exiting drug and alcohol treatment programs or living in sober housing. Participants receive access to group vans, electric bikes, job coaching, work clothing, and credit-repair services to help them secure employment and sustain long-term recovery.

3. Who can participate in the program?

Adults (18 and older) who have completed treatment for substance use disorder and are currently living in sober-living homes or recovery residences in Clark or Floyd County, Indiana are eligible. Participants must be committed to maintaining sobriety and pursuing employment.

4. How many people does the program serve each year?

Bridges 2 Hope supports approximately 100–125 individuals annually through transportation, job placement, and financial readiness services.

5. How does the transportation program work?

Bridges 2 Hope operates five 12–15 passenger vans that provide daily transportation to job interviews, work sites, training sessions, and essential appointments. For participants with short commutes or flexible schedules, we also offer electric bikes and safety gear.

6. Is there a cost for using the vans or bikes?

No. Transportation is provided free of charge to participants while they are actively engaged in the program. Once participants become employed, optional sliding-scale contributions may be encouraged to help sustain the program for others.

7. What kind of job support do participants receive?

Participants work with certified peer mentors and job coaches to build résumés, practice interview skills, connect with local employers, and access workforce training opportunities. We also provide essential work clothing and shoes for those starting new jobs.

8. How does the credit repair program work?

Our financial coaches help participants review credit reports, dispute inaccurate items, establish new lines of credit responsibly, and create personalized budgets. Building financial stability is a key step toward long-term independence.

9. How do you measure success?

We track progress through employment records, credit reports (with participant consent), and six-month follow-ups. Our goals include:

– 70% of participants employed within 90 days.
– 60% improving or establishing credit within six months.
– 80% maintaining sobriety at six month
